The curtain came down on the  Badminton Championships Open  at the Nimibutr  Gymnasium, National  Stadium in Bangkok on June 9.In the men’s doubles final, the ROK’s Shin Baek Choel/ Yoo Yeon Seong faced Russia’s Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov. The opening game was a close fought affair, the Russians taking it 21 : 18  to go one game ahead. In the second game, the ROK pair adjusted their attacking method, and their continuous powerful attacking shots allowed them to go into a 5:0 lead;roared on by the crowd, and their ROK teammates, they quickly took the second match to even the score. The ROK pair kept up their fighting spirit in the deciding game and went into an 8:2 lead; the attacking and defensive performance of the ROK pair had the crowd cheering them on and they quickly  disposed of their opponents 21:14 to take the third game and the match, claiming the men’s doubles title.
